Hidden Compartments
When you think of hidden compartments, you may think of people hiding things that they may not be that proud of owning, or perhaps you think of intrigue and mystery. Those are common themes in movies and on television, but there are real needs for real people to have these. Some older homes have these, and you may be living in a house with them without even realizing it. If you don’t have any, you may want to think about ways to have some for a little piece of mind.
You don’t have to have anything illegal to want to have hidden compartments in your home. If you have never seen what someone breaking into a house can do, you probably already have a good idea of why having hidden compartments is a great idea. Even though strangers tearing up your home is heartbreaking, and costly, it is even worse if they get their hands on the things that mean the most to you. They can find some hidden things, but if you are creative, they won’t find the things that you hold dearest to your heart.
These hidden compartments should not be put in behind pictures, or more obvious places that you have seen. Instead, you have to get creative. You can even have a company come in to help you pick out what would be the least obvious spots for hidden compartments. I have seen them that were hidden so well that I am not sure the homeowner would have been aware of them if they had not be put them in. These can be in the trim around the house, the fireplace mantle, or worked into larger pieces of furniture.
