Many of the flowering cherry trees that I found online primarily grew in the southern zones of the country. One of my favorite varieties is the weeping flowering cherry tree that makes a lovely focal point in the center of my backyard. This species has plenty of long, leaning branches that look as though they are weighted down with flowers during the peak of their blooming season. I discovered that other varieties might bloom at slightly different times, so by collecting a few different species, I was able to extend my bloom time by a few weeks.
I remember seeing pictures of the Washington Monument in springtime when I was a kid, when the entire scene surrounding this majestic structure was filled with a blanket of pink. This is due to the large number of Okame flowering cherry trees, the star of the show in Washington, D.C. in the spring.

To set up a basic bed for flowers, all you need to do is remove the sod and plant small plants or seeds in the soil. Getting rid of the sod can be a lot of work. An easy way to get rid of sod, which unfortunately takes a long time, is to cover the area you want to make into a bed with five to seven layers of newspaper. Cover the paper with mulch and allow it to sit undisturbed for at least six months. A year is ideal.

Another great climbing vine to add to your garden is the common honeysuckle. Traditional honeysuckle has white/gold flowers. Trumpet honeysuckle blooms red flowers. Both varieties offer great cover for problem areas of your yard. The fragrance fills the yard from these beautiful flowers.

A different type of climbing vine is the cup and saucer. It resembles a cup and saucer with green bell shaped flowers that are striped, turning into dark purple. The cup and saucer is an extremely eye catching climbing vine.
Clematis is a great addition. Known as Sweet Autumn, it typically blooms in the first year, and is extremely well known.

Hop is a perennial vine that is adorned with bright yellow leaves complemented with small flowers that are similar to pine cones. This vine attracts lots of butterflies.

If you have a favorite artificial bouquet or bridesmaids bouquet that is looking kind of weathered and worn it can be brought back to its former beauty with a little effort on your part, especially if it is a silk bouquet. These can last longer than any other artificial bouquet. All it takes is a little attention from you for 5 minutes every three to six months. To clean your bouquet you can rice clean it. This can be done by placing your bouquet in a shopping bag along with a half cup of rice, twist it closed and shake it for about sixty seconds. What happens inside is the rice becomes loaded with static electricity and the dust will attach itself to the rice. In the past some people used to use salt, but it was found to be too harsh and would sometimes scratch the flowers, whereas white rice is softer and not damage your flowers at all.
