Linkin Park’s humble beginnings started in 1996 when three high school friends formed their band Xero.

In 1999 Chester Bennington was recruited to the band.  The new look vocal team of Bennington and Mike Shinoda gave them the kick on they needed.  The same year they changed their name from Hybrid Theory to Linkin Park.  Even with these changes, Linkin Park still struggled to sign a record deal.
