Locksmith Charges

Understanding Locksmith Service Charges.

Locksmith call out charges can be misleading and cause some bad feeling when it comes to getting the bill. Be aware that when a locksmith states “no call out charge” that it doesn’t mean you don’t have to pay for him to come to your aid. What it usually means is that he charges by the hour or any part of an hour that he is at your call out. So, if he is there for anytime up to one hour you will be charged for one hours work.

Some locksmiths will break it down to half hours. If he is on the job for one hour and 1 minute you will be charged for two hours. A locksmith will charge anything from 30 / hour to 200 / hour and more, so it’s really important to get a quote before asking a locksmith to do the job.

Once a locksmith has arrived on site he is entitled to bill you for one hour of work. So if you manage to find the keys or get in before he arrives, call and cancel and save yourself what could be a substantial fee.

Local locksmiths like Locksmith Southampton, who are protective of their reputation will give a full quote so there are no surprises when the bill is presented.
