The Revolution of GI Joe Action Figures
GI Joe’s story was about an animated American soldier which dates its foundation in 1942 and created a huge industry in recent decades. GI Joe action figures served to inspire young Americans to serve and defend the nation, not to mention its official GI Joe Collector’s Club annual meeting held for ten years.
The 10th Annual Convention was in New Orleans in the year 2006, with Sgt. Slaughter as special guest in attendance. The success of GI Joe story is both a commercial success and evidence of American heroism. GI Joe action figures for Hasbro Toy Company, consisted of four parts, all members of the armed forces and the United States, Action Soldier, Action Pilot, Action Marine and Action Sailor. With eavy promotion of the toy industry, it became a household name, which corresponds to the military prowess and loved by young boys and adult men in mid-1960.
Every war that the US has been involved with has inspired the story behind GI Joe; back in the Vietnam War in 1970, the name GI Joe was rebranded as adventure figures to give the initial war theme of GI Joe action figures a little downplay. The brand name frequently made its appearance in newspapers and the TV when reporters interviewed war heroes who share a fascination with the GI Joe action figures and collectables before they served in the Military.
Since the mid 70’s, new lines of GI Joe action figures started each year – a soldier GI Joe, Kung Fu GI Joe, Star Wars and Adventure GI Joe; the creation of GI Joe action figures was inspired from characters from real life U.S. military and cultural events.
