Self Help to Improve your Personal Life
Self help can lead to personal growth which will make you happier. Self improvement is a great way to get to the excellent personal life you want.
Self help is something I’ve been doing since I was a child and I’ll bet you have too. Personal growth is inevitable in a child just because learning leads to personal growth and self improvement. It can’t be helped. However I doubt that’s quite what most people mean when they talk about self help.
What’s a definition of self help? According to Dictionary.com the definitions for self help, at least the relevant ones, are the following.
1. the act of providing for or helping or the ability to provide for or help oneself without assistance from others.
3. the acquiring of information or the solving of one’s problems, esp. those of a psychological nature, without the direct supervision of professionals or experts, as by independent reading or by joining or forming lay groups that are devoted to one’s interests or goals.
4. of or pertaining to a book, article, home study course, or the like, offering an individual information or counseling intended to be personally beneficial or profitable: self-help books on overcoming shyness.
It seems that numbers 3 and 4 are closer to what most people think of as self help and number 1 would be close to what most see as self improvement. Either way this site is about self help for self improvement.
Values make us as a person and define how we invest our time, energy and money. When our values are high, we are unlimited in what we can do for improving our personal life. Throughout our life, we decide what we want to do with our time and time is essential, since time passes quickly. For this reason you, want to invest time and spend your time wisely. Spending time wisely includes activities, entertainment, work, quality time and so on.
The average person spends most of their day working. At the end of the day they return home to spend time watching television, or engaging in activities with the family. Unfortunately, family is a thing of the past. If you want to improve personal life, you have to put family first. If you have a wife and kids, or husband and kids, you need to learn how to invest time with the family. Unfortunately, you have five or six hours after a day of work to do this. You also want time for yourself.
To achieve a time frame that works for everyone try discovering new interests. When you discover new ideas, it will help you open the doors to success as your directions in life are based on new ideas. For instance, if you come home after work most times without spending time with the family, try eating at the dinner table each night with your family. Don’t allow room for excuses. As you eat together, take the time to ask how each person’s day went. This has proven to enhance relationships. When you enhance relationship, you are also building a new bridge to personal improvement.
