Panasonic DMC FZ28 review and ratings
Compact digital cameras with longer and longer zoom lenses are becoming more common. The Panasonic DMC FZ28 is once such camera with it’s 18x optical zoom lens. In fact if you shoot at lower resolutions you can progressively increase the amount of zoom available either further. This can give you a maximum of 32.1x zoom.
The lens on the DMC FZ28 is wide angle. This give the camera a lot of flexibility as it can be used for landscape shots, interior and groups of people as well as the more obvious sports and wildlife shots. Close up photography is also catered for with a macro mode that can focus from 1cm away from the subject.
Even more power can be added to the lens if you buy a separate conversion lens.
For people who like to capture movie footage with a digital camera it is worth knowing that you can capture HD quality movies. In order to play them back on an HD television you will need to buy an additional cable.
The DMC FZ28 also offers a selection of advanced features. These include manual exposure, aperture priority and shutter priority. You also have access to a burst mode, image stabilisation and bracketing.
There are three or four very similar digital cameras on the market. Another one worth checking out is the Sony DSC H50.
Rating: Above Average
I was very impressed by the quality of the Panasonic DMC FZ28. It takes a very good photo and has plenty of control and features to help you take the best possible photographs.
