New shopping mall in eastern Iowa serves tourists
The new shopping center that was just built in Davenport is expected not only to draw shoppers, it is also expected to increase eastern Iowa tourism as it is being built right between two of the area’s main tourist attractions. One being the amusement park and the other being the Mississippi river. One of the anchor stores is expected to be Cabalas, a well know supplier of fishing and hunting equipment. They will be close enough to the river that fishermen will be able to walk from the store to the river for that instant gratification from the purchase of their new rod and reel. The other anchor store is going to be J C Penney’s thus hoping to attract the women to the mall also. The idea to have the two opposing stores (men’s store verses women’s store) at opposite ends of the mall was two fold. When couples come into the mall they often go their separate ways. With the biggest draws at opposite ends the retailers hope to be better able to sell to their client. On the other hand when one party finishes their shopping the will know where to find the other party. Success is garenteed
