Jewellery has been made for nearly every body part,the first pieces of jewellery were made from natural materials, such as bone, teeth and carved stone. Some originated as purely functional items like brooches and buckles.
Other decorative items, precious stones are also used for jewellery. Some gems, for example, amethyst, have become less valued as methods of extracting and importing them have progressed.
