The Great Silk Road Of China

The Great Silk Road was the trading caravan route from China to Europe – to Rome, the then powerful and prosperous capital of the Roman Empire. It  connected two major cultures of the ancient world. The route covered a distance of more than 7000km. This caravan route existed from the 2nd century BC till the 16th century AD.
